<p>In the previous article, we saw the Urban Code Deploy server installation on Ubuntu 18.04. Here is its link. https://devopsmadeeasy.com/urban-code-d ... ntu-18-04/<br />In this post we will see the Urban Code Deploy agent installation on Ubuntu 18.04 and for that we are going to use the same machine on which we have installed UCD server earlier.</p>
<h4>Following are the 3 steps that we are going to perform in this post:</h4>
<h3>Step1: Start UCD server and access the UCD web UI console</h3>
<p>Before we start UCD agent installation, we have to make sure that UCD server is up and running. If the UCD server is not yet started, use the below commands to start the UCD server.</p>
<p>Verify whether the UCD server java process is up and http, https ports are listening.</p>
<p>Access the UCD console using http://publicip:8080 and be on the dashboard.</p>

<h3>Step2: Download the UCD agent installation zip file</h3>
<p>In order to download the UCD agent installation zip file, click on the icon present at the top right side of UCD console and go to ?<strong>Tools</strong>?. Now we have 3 different tools zip files available to download and install. As we would like to install ?<strong>UCD agent</strong>?, right click on ?<strong>UrbanCode Deploy Agent</strong>?(1st tool) and click on ?<strong>Copy Link Location</strong>? as shown in the below slide(2nd image).</p>

<p>Now after copying the link location, I?m using wget command to download the UCD agent zip file as shown below. If you are getting any SSL error while downloading the zip file, add <strong>?no-check-certificate</strong> to wget command and download the zip file.</p>

<p>Unzip the downloaded zip file using the command <strong>unzip ucd-agent.zip</strong></p>
<h3>Step3: UCD agent installation</h3>
<p>After unzipping, a folder with the name <strong>ucd-agent-install</strong> will get created on the server. Similar to install-server.sh script which we have used to install and configure UCD server, to install and configure a ucd agent we have a script <strong>install-agent.sh</strong>. Let us run this script and install UCD agent on the server.</p>

<p>Similar to UCD server installation, we will use all the defaults while installing UCD agent and you can see the below video to install UCD agent with the defaults. After agent is installed successfully, we have to start the agent using the below commands and ensure that agent process has been started as seen in the video.</p>
<p>Let us validate whether the agent is successfully added to UCD server by logging into UCD console. Go to <strong>Resources</strong> ? <strong>Agents</strong> and check whether the <strong>agent is online</strong>.If the agent that was added is online then our installation and configuration is successful.</p>
